Why Should I Join?
We are the only organization representing PA interests in women's health care. Please join us as we increase our numbers and strengthen our voice in women's health care at all levels; with policy makers and third party payors; in education, research and industry.

PAs are represented in relatively small numbers in the field of Ob/Gyn compared to other advance practice clinician groups. Thus, our visibility becomes extremely important. Numbers do matter and your membership matters. Below are just a few of APAOG's member benefits:

  • Timely Communications - APAOG keeps you updated on women's health news as it relates to new drugs, procedures and legislative changes through our website and regular e-communications. APAOG also delivers our quarterly newsletter, the Monitor, which provides comprehensive information for PAs practicing in women's health.
  • Annual Conference Registration Discount - APAOG will again partner with the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) to host its annual conference. The 2012 conference will be held in New Orleans, September 20-22. APAOG members will receive discounted registration!
  • Professional Support - APAOG's website houses an archive of past Monitor articles. The website also contains Professional Practice FAQs, Tools and Tips as well as a member Discussion Board and other links. Check out the template for PAs to use when applying for privileges at their affiliated hospitals. PAs seeking OB/GYN positions and providers looking for PAs are also encouraged to utilize the Employment Opportunities section of the website!
  • Services for Students - APAOG recognizes that students are the viability of our profession. We have a student representative on our Board of Directors. Students searching for a preceptor can contact the APAOG office and request a list of members interested in precepting. A one-time student membership fee activates your membership through the end of your graduation year.
  • OB/GYN PA Representation and Promotion - Although PAs represent a small number of health care providers in our specialty, our viability is important in creating policy, jobs and awareness. APAOG is the official representative for women's health to AAPA and also expresses your interests to the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the North American Menopausal Society (NAMS) and others. We have secured a joint membership discount with ARHP, so members receive a $25 discount on ARHP dues and a $10 savings on APAOG dues.
