What is
APAOG?
The Association of Physician
Assistants in Obstetrics & Gynecology (APAOG) was founded
in 1991 by a group of PAs dedicated to the mission of providing
quality health care to women. Our goal is to promote clinical
and academic excellence for members of APAOG, as well as
to enhance quality medical care to our patients.
Why Should I Join?
We are the only
organization representing PA interests in women's health
care. Please join us as we increase our numbers and strengthen
our voice in women's health care at all levels; with policy
makers and third party payors; in education, research and
industry.
PAs are represented in relatively small
numbers in the field of Ob/Gyn compared to other advance
practice clinician groups. Thus, our visibility becomes
extremely important. Numbers do matter and your membership
matters.
What if
I Don't Work in Ob/Gyn?
APAOG welcomes all PAs with an interest in women's
health as members.
What are the Membership Benefits?"
-
Access to the
Members-Only Section of the APAOG
Website (www.paobgyn.org)
The members-only section contains valuable
professional practice information, a membership
directory, a resource library, information for job seekers
and helpful tools to improve a medical practice.
-
ObGyn PA Representation
and Affiliation to an Ob/
Gyn PA Network
As an APAOG member, one will be part of a

healthcare policies, job opportunities, practice scope
and profession visibility. Members will also have
representation through APAOG medical liaisons
to Ob/Gyn physician specialty groups such as the
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
(ACOG), the North American Menopause Society
(NAMS) and the Association of Reproductive Health
Professionals (ARHP). Through APAOGs national
membership directory, members will have the ability
to discuss issues, voice concerns and share experiences
with other Ob/Gyn PAs.

APAOGs newsletter is rated as one of the top
publications for specialty PA groups. Articles contain
up-to-date information and news on womens health
issues. There is always a section on upcoming CME
events as well as a section with practice tips shared
by
colleagues in the field of Ob/Gyn. Announcements
on opportunities for PAs in womens health care and
profiles of Ob/Gyn PAs from around the country are
often included in the publication.
-
Student

The APAOG Web site has a student page with
tips
on clinical rotations and job searches. Opportunities
for research grants and subsidized student
